2026 PBCOHE Scholarship Opportunities
A Scholarship Note From

PBCOHE, Inc. Scholarship Committee
The Pennsylvania Black Conference on Higher Education, Inc. (PBCOHE) will award seven (7) $1,000 scholarships to outstanding undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at colleges and universities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Application Deadline:
Monday, May 4, 2026
Only complete applications will be reviewed. Applicants are responsible for submitting all required materials. Electronic transcripts must be sent directly from the Registrar to [email protected].
Freshmen students (fewer than 30 completed credit hours) are not eligible to apply.
Scholarship Awards Luncheon
June 5, 2026 at 12:00 Noon
Recipients must be in attendance to receive their award.
Available Scholarships
K. Leroy Irvis Undergraduate Scholarship (3 Awards)
Minimum 3.0 GPA; leadership; extracurricular involvement; references; essay (no more than 600 words); brief bio and photo.
W. Terrell Jones Educational Equity Scholarship (1 Award)
All Irvis criteria plus evidence of work and/or volunteer service in the area of educational equity.
Robert D. Lynch Leadership Scholarship (1 Award)
All Irvis criteria plus attendance at the Robert D. Lynch Student Leadership Development Institute (SLDI).
Esther-Jafari Haymon Scholarship (1 Award)
Financial need; minimum 2.0 GPA; sophomore standing; leadership and participation in co-curricular activities; two recommendations including one from Financial Aid stipulating your need.
John S. Shropshire Graduate Scholarship (1 Award)
All Irvis criteria plus completion of at least six graduate credit hours.
