A 50 Year Journey - Our Past, Our Present and Our Future in Higher Education.

Pennsylvania Black Conference on Higher Education

The  50th  Annual  Conference  will  convene  on  March  26-28, 2020 at the Sheraton  Pittsburgh Hotel at Station Square, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh is home to 16  colleges  and universities  that  play  a  vital role in educating the next generation of leaders, advancing the city’s workforce development  and  generating breakthrough discoveries.

The  conference  theme,  “PBCOHE: A 50 Year Journey - Our Past, Our Present and  Our  Future  in  Higher  Education”  will  facilitate  deep  enriching conversations  around  the  changing  climate of Higher Education: funding, access,   retention   and   success   for   African   Americans  and  other underrepresented  groups. PBCOHE is seeking to learn from leaders, faculty, and  staff  and  graduate  students  whose  work  examines forces currently shaping  higher  education. These works may include policies or research on anticipated  policies,  innovations  involving  recruitment,  admission and retention  efforts,  advancements  in technology and online learning, local and  national  educational practices or programs, and how minority students might benefit from, or be hindered by, these policies, forces or changes in the  coming  years.   Attendees will be provided with a rich opportunity to explore  the  myriad  of  issues  related to ensuring student success while creating bonds with educators from across the Commonwealth.

Please  join  us  as  we  celebrate  50  years  of  service, leadership and scholarship.

Sincerely,

The 2020 Annual Conference Planning Committee
Rachael Banks and Dr. Pricilla Robertson, Co-Chairs
